In 2005, Hurricane Katrina hit the coast of Louisiana.  The hurricane flooded streets with 5ft of water, as the Levees gave way to the twenty-five feet high waves.  For those who could not evacuate, The Louisiana Super Dome and EJM Convention Center became their last places of refuge.  Over 25,000 people filled each location.  Many struggled to reach safety in the midst of the storm.  The New Orleans community is well known for its great food, great drinks, and dancing to celebrate funerals.  Only a culture that strong could overcome such an event and still have its annual Mardi Gras Celebration just six months later.
